After a Crash

You can read and download our helpful brochure here.

  1.  Turn off the engine. Leave your car where it is if it’s safe to do so. Otherwise, drive to the side of the road or a well-lit parking lot.

  2. Keep Calm!!!

  3. If you think you are injured, stay in your car, relax, and ask someone to help.

  4. Never walk directly between two cars--if one is hit again you could be trapped between them.

  5. Provide medical help to others ONLY if you are trained to do so.

  6. Call the police, dialing 911 or 0.

  7. Do not say the accident was your fault, even if you believe it was. Time for sorting that out will come later.

  8. Be tactful and courteous; after all, it was an accident, not something done on purpose.

  9. Take photos of the accident and the location of both vehicles.

  10. Exchange information: Names, addresses, Witnesses names and phone numbers, insurance info, license plate numbers. Use our brochure to gather information and sketch the scene of the accident.
